Hello girls, I don't know what to do. My baby is 3.5 months old and has a cough with phlegm. We were prescribed Viferon, Vibrocil, and two drops of Kyzyl May oil for the throat. But the poor thing can't cough it up. The lungs were checked and they said they are clear, just that it's red, no fever. I've been doing a massage for the phlegm but it seems like it's not helping at all.

You should consult a doctor for additional advice and possibly additional treatment. Additionally, try to provide your child with humidified air indoors, ventilate the room frequently, and ensure an adequate amount of fluids to moisten the mucous membranes. Do not forget to monitor the overall condition of the child and in case of worsening symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

Everything listed can be thrown away. These "medications" have no proven effectiveness. For such little ones, just rinse the nose with any saline solution from the pharmacy or with physiological solution (administer with a syringe). Air out the room, go for walks, and humidify the air if possible. Reduce fever as necessary in the appropriate dosage. Keep an eye on the lungs. There's no need for any "mucus-clearing massage"; you were told it's clear. It's not mucus, but snot running down the wall.

I recommend listening to Anastasia's words. Up to 3 months, my daughter was sick twice, she even had an obstruction, and I didn't even give her antibiotics. I just kept her hydrated, did inhalations, and suctioned out the snot. By that I mean I fed her frequently.

Feron is nonsense, Viburcol may have side effects, the miracle oil that for some reason is prescribed to everyone has no proof, drink plenty of fluids, maintain a microclimate, at a minimum get blood tests done, massage and definitely listen to the lungs over time. With such an approach, find a good doctor, do not give mucolytics, only inhalations if necessary and consult with a doctor.

Kaleriya_Mayer , I called the doctor for tomorrow; I haven't given any mucolytics, as we were told before that the lungs are clear, and I try to maintain the temperature and humidity in the room.

Анастасия , You just need to understand the cause of the cough. If it's from the nose, then you need to clean it well. An aspirator saves me from using a vacuum cleaner; 15 seconds of whining and it clears everything out, even from the throat. They try not to give mucolytics to children under two. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
